The Signatures Collection of non-gender-specific premium fragrances encapsulates a British spirit. They are unique, unexpected, and made from the finest perfumery ingredients. It is a bit like an exploratory lab where Burberry can tap into its rich heritage and artistry and then surprise with a few eccentricities.
Now, I love a rose-based fragrance, which is incidentally becoming more readily welcomed by the male masses. Hand-on-heart, Tudor Rose is one of the best. Unlike some rose-infused scents, which can be a bit powdery or granny-like, this one opens with sparkling notes of bergamot citrus that are instantly uplifting.
Then it doubles up on the rose (Bulgarian and rose de mai), with just a touch of jasmine, before drying down on a base of characterful patchouli and the maple-syrup-like sweetness of fenugreek. Created by master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, its inspiration was a Kensington garden, tangled with wild blooms; to me, it just says “summer” in a bottle.
