The Best Books to Read This Spring, According to the New York Times


As we shift into a new season, we are also shifting into a new bout of great new releases, 24 of which the New York Times has rounded up. Some are returns to favorite, bestselling series, like Suzanne Collins’s Hunger Games; others are long-awaited returns to form, like Alison Bechdel’s latest graphic autofiction.

Overall, the list is fairly varied when it comes to genre, and while it does seem to lean towards very well-known authors, there are still a few debuts (like Tilt by Emma Pattee), and there’s even the last book Toni Morrison acquired as an editor in 1983 (Fish Tales by Nettie Jones).
