Alaska Airlines has shared some information about its new credit card, the Alaska Airlines Premium Credit Card, which is set to debut in summer 2025.

According to the airline’s website, the Premium card will earn 3x miles on eligible foreign purchases and dining. Neither overlaps with the bonus categories on the existing Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® credit card, so the two cards could complement each other nicely. The card will have an annual fee of $395, the airline confirmed.

Other perks of the Premium card will include new Companion Fare certificates, waived award ticket fees, Alaska Lounge passes, Wi-Fi vouchers and accelerated paths to elite status within Alaska Airlines’ loyalty program.

Several details are still unknown about the Premium card, such as its sign-up bonus and Companion Fare eligibility requirements. But a new card would follow closely on the heels of multiple big changes for Alaska Airlines. In September 2024, the airline completed its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines, and in October 2024, Alaska also announced big (and largely positive) changes that would be coming to its Mileage Plus loyalty program.

In addition to some preliminary details about the Premium card, Alaska Airlines this week also announced a promotion for new Premium cardholders. You can get 500 miles just for signing up for the card’s early access list by Dec. 31, 2024. You’ll get an additional 5,000 miles when you’re approved for the Premium card. Note that you must apply for the card using the exclusive link that will be emailed to you.

The bonus 5,500 miles are in addition to the miles new cardholders can earn through the card’s sign-up bonus, which again is unknown at this time.
