Cristiano Ronaldo claims Manchester United owners don’t care about their club

At the moment, no one seems to be safe from Cristiano Ronaldo’s fury.

The star has been on a warpath against his club and is not inspired by Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family.

Ronaldo said that the owners don’t care about their club in a fiery interview with Piers Morgan of TalkTV.

He said, “Manchester’s a marketing club,” in an interview that was teased this week ahead of its full release on Wednesday and Thursday.

“They will make money marketing the sport – they don’t care about the sport.”

Although the family of Glazer became majority shareholders in 2005, their involvement with the club has not been well received by the majority.

Ronaldo said he has never met the owners and claimed that there was not enough investment in the training facilities. He also stated that many things have remained the same since he departed from the club in 2009.

He said that there are “things within the club” that prevent Manchester United from competing at the top level with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

United hasn’t won any major trophy in five years, and Ronaldo doesn’t think the club will be a major force in the next two-three years.

“The fans are always right. Ronaldo said that the fans need to know the truth and should understand that the players want the best for their club.

“I want the best for the club. This is why I chose Manchester United. This is why I love Manchester United.

Rooney and Neville are ‘not friends

Ronaldo also spared barbs for his former teammates Wayne Rooney, and Gary Neville, who both have criticized the Portuguese star in recent weeks.

He said that Rooney, the current DC United manager, might be jealous that Rooney wasn’t playing at the highest levels.

Ronaldo said that it was hard to hear negative criticism about others who played with him, and added that Neville and Rooney weren’t his friends.

It’s easy to criticize. I don’t understand why they would criticize a television job to make them more famous.

“I believe they take advantage [of my name] because they’re not stupid.”

Ronaldo said that he felt “betrayed” by the club and that he didn’t respect Erik ten Hag, the current manager of the club.

This comes at a time when the 37-year-old has had a tough season. He’s seen his playing time reduced and only one league goal.

Ronaldo has had heartbreak and struggled on the pitch. He and Georgina Rodriguez, his partner, had just announced the death of their son.

In October 2021, Rodriguez and Portugal’s star announced that they were expecting twins. They announced their pregnancy in December.

Ronaldo said that his baby girl had also been admitted to the hospital which was the reason Ronaldo missed most of the preseason training.

He claims that the club didn’t believe he was having family problems.

Manchester United posted a statement on its website stating that it “notes media coverage concerning an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.”

The club would respond after all facts are known.

“Our focus is on the second half of this season and maintaining the momentum, belief, and togetherness that has been built between the players, managers, staff, fans, and supporters.”

Ronaldo will play for Portugal at Qatar 2022 in this month’s match before returning to Manchester, where there are bound to be some hard conversations.
