When David Beckham gets a new pair of sneakers, he usually opts for something clean and low-key, like the Loro Piana Soho Walk. Even when he appeared on Complexâs Sneaker Shopping back in 2022 (the YouTube series where actors, rappers, and other very famous dudes drop thousands on new kicks), he bought just a single pair of Yeezy 700s that he described as âneutral.â
But a few days ago, Beckham was spotted courtside at a Lakers game with his son, Romeo, wearing slightly vibier kicks than usual. On his feet was the Adidas Fear of God Athletics Trainer in the hallowed âNight Brownâ colorway.

When Fear of God founder Jerry Lorenzo announced that he was leaving Nike and joining Adidas in 2020, it was a major departure. Lorenzo had been responsible for designing one of the Swoosh’s most coveted non-Air Jordan basketball shoes in yearsâwould he be able to transfer that power over to the Three Stripes? Well, while his first collection took a long time to finally drop (around three years or so), itâs silhouettes like the Fear of God Athletics Trainer that made the wait actually worth it.
The âNight Brownâ version released in January. Dripped out in chocolatey suede across the upper, itâs fastened with a toggle switch lacing system and a thick strap that wraps around the midfoot. The California label’s âdecoâ stitch pattern hits the toebox, and the midsole is fitted with a special cushioning tech called Lightstrike.
Sure, they’re still plenty clean and low-key, but David Beckham has a taste for the futuristic now. And the best bit? Resale prices arenât in the four figures yet, which is something.
