October is the best month of the year and that is not up for debate. Perfect weather, pumpkin-flavored everything, the return to drinking hot coffee—I could go on. It really is the start of fall in my book, and with a new season comes the desire to make a few apartment updates. For my living room, I’m looking to bring in warmer tones with throw pillows, vases, and dried flowers. For my bedroom, it’s time to pull out the weighted blankets and Le Labo candles. My dining room table will get a nice upgrade with olive and baby-blue embroidered napkins, Sabre flatware, and the most gorgeous carafe I’ve ever seen. But my home updates are not just about pretty things (though that is very Libra-coded)—I need a few practical items as well, like an immersion blender to create yummy soups and a laundry set that my sensitive skin can actually tolerate. All of these and more can be found below.
AnthroLiving
Madeline Cocktail Napkins, Set of 4
This season, I’m skipping orange and black and going straight for baby blue, maroon, and olive tones.
AnthroLiving
Luxe Linen Blend Pillow
I love to incorporate linen fabrics into my home year-round, and for fall, I’m opting to get them in deeper colors like this.
Creative Women
Carafe Set
Well, this certainly outshines my clear glass water pitcher.
AnthroLiving
Ruffled Organic Spa Sateen Duvet Cover
Switching my duvet every season is a luxury I can’t afford, but I think this one will look beautiful all year long.
Brooklyn Bedding
Chunky Knit Weighted Blanket
You will not know deep sleep until you add this blanket to your bedding.
Roxanne’s Dried Flowers
Bleached Gypsophila Bloom
Dried flowers that complement a wide range of decor styles.
Meso Goods
Betta Glass Vase
My vase of choice for the dried flowers.
Le Labo
Santal 26 Classic Candle
While I’d normally pass on a $96 candle, the scent and longevity of this one from Le Labo make it worth the cost. If you prefer sophisticated, woody scents over sugary-sweet ones for fall, this is your girl.
Diptyque Paris
Softening and Comforting Hand Wash
The only hand wash that won’t completely dry out my hands this season. The experience is pure luxury and it is worth every cent.
Imagine stirring your spiced latte with this cute spoon (it’s the little things, no?).
Le Creuset
Le Creuset 14 oz. Pumpkin Mug With Lid
Okay, I know I said no pumpkins, but I can’t resist this mug from Le Creuset.
Smeg
Retro Style Hand Blender Set
Soup season is upon us—act accordingly.
Branch Basics
Laundry Kit
I’m always on a quest for non-toxic, environmentally friendly cleaning and laundry products. Branch Basics is my official pick after testing a plethora of brands this year.
Sabre
Buffalo Bistro Flatware Sets
Every cool restaurant in Brooklyn uses Sabre flatware, so now I, too, must own Sabre flatware.
