Big news for anyone into highly-limited gear built to last a lifetime: Noah and Barbour are back at it again, this time with an exclusive cropped-and-boxy joint appropriately dubbed the Wading Jacket.
The brand-new silhouette is a Noah release only, but it’s inspired by Barbour’s legendary Spey jacket, an archival deep cut originally designed for fishing—hence the cropped length. The Wading Jacket is actually a couple of inches longer than the Spey, which, ironically enough, makes it a bit more functional in a non-wading capacity.
Right now, it’s available in three colors—tobacco, ice blue, and pitch black—though all three versions are made from a hybrid aero-cotton shell. Each option boasts massive patch pockets at the front; a choose-your-own-use-case D-ring at the chest; an incredibly useful storm skirt inside; and an unvented, water-defending back hem, in case things get messy.
In 2025, collaborations fall on a pretty wide spectrum. On one end, you have the do-we-really-need-this head-scratchers—y’know, any impromptu menswear link-up that feels entirely forced, wildly unnecessary, or mildly cringe-worthy. On the other end, though, you have the pure simpatico no-brainers—force-multiplying partnerships where one plus one really does equal three. Anyone familiar with Noah and Barbour’s ongoing alliance knows which end it land ons, and this time around is no different.
The other thing we know? Whenever these guys join forces, the fruits of their labor go fast. Make moves quick to the Noah site to get in while the gettin’ is good, or suffer through all those imminent spring downpours in abject misery.
