I’ve been covering Prime Day for way too many years, and without fail, the Moccamaster goes on monster sale. Is it one of the most hyped-up coffee makers of all time? Yes. Does it deserve said hype? Also yes. As a pour-over stan, I haven’t had the need for an automatic drip machine. But this is the year I finally make the jump. The Dutch-made machine forgoes all the bells and whistles to make a good cuppa joe, not much else to say.
Yeti Rambler Colster
The best thing Yeti makes isn’t an overpriced cooler. It’s this colster insulator thing. It’s basically the Cadillac of koozies, and it works as advertised, and looks great whether you’re on the beach or at a backyard BBQ. It’s available for 12 oz. regular cans, but I’ve got a few slim versions, and I’ll be picking up a few more.

iS Clinical Cleansing Complex
For years, the only face wash I bothered using—day in and day out, AM and PM—was a drugstore buy from Cetaphil. It was totally fine, I guess, but I felt like kind of a schmoe for sticking with the same cleanser since high school…and totally fine doesn’t quite inspire the type of glowing anecdotes you expect to see here. So after the requisite Reddit deep dive, I switched to iS Clinical’s cleansing complex, a gentle, retexturing formula with a weirdly cult-ish following. One of the best things I bought this year was a teeny-tiny Seiko bracelet watch from the ’70s, which is definitely more bracelet than watch and all the better for it. It’s a women’s model, but I have dainty wrists—and these days, the gals are beating the guys at their own game, anyway. If the coos of delight my new watch-let elicits are any indication, small watches will only be getting bigger in 2024.

You’ll sacrifice a fancy AI processor by opting for the older version of the Frame, but you’ll still get 98% of the features that matter the most. This art TV has a really unique “matte” display that makes glare disappear. It’s the kind of feature that works so well, you wish it came on all TVs. The 55-inch version is probably the right size for most households, at just 1” thick, it’s so skinny you’re starting to worry about it. For Prime Day, you can get it for under $1,000 and get a customizable bezel for free. Be sure to select a bezel before you check out.
Herschel Classic XL Backpack
The all-black version of this bag sold out instantly on Prime Day day one, and I’m still not over it. (Even the tag and the font on the tag was black. Basically, it was made to be irresistible to GQ shopping editors.) However, the other colorways are still worth adding to cart. This XL backpack is big enough to fit a 15 or 16-inch MacBook Pro, plus tons more gear. It looks like Herschel added these bags to Amazon specifically for Prime Day, so don’t be surprised if the rest of the line sells out before Prime Day is over.
Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds
These earbuds are so comfortable that I wear them for four or five hours at a time. I don’t even listen to music a lot of the time. I use them purely as noise-cancellers during my work day, blocking out everything so I can focus on the task at hand (searching through a bajillion Prime Day deals, mostly). They just dropped to their lowest-ever price, and they’ve got premium ANC and spatial audio, too.

Shark NV352 Navigator Lift Away Upright Vacuum
I’ll confess that I’m not actually buying this for Prime Day. That’s because I’ve owned this vacuum for two years and it’s been phenomenal. Despite its goofy purple colorway and very non-Dyson design, it’s been far and away the best vacuum I’ve ever used. The suction is fantastic, the unit itself is like a Megatron that detaches into separate smaller components to make every nook, cranny, and staircase a breeze to clean, and emptying the canister is easy as pie. The only downside is that I bought it at full price at about $200. The upside is that you don’t have to.

Samsung 55” QN55Q80D TV
I recently moved, so it was an excellent opportunity to score a new TV, and I lucked out by knowing that Prime Day was right around the corner. Yeah, yeah, everyone’s hyped over Samsung’s The Frame series being cheaper than ever before, but I’m trying to spend less than $1K on a new boob tube (and I weirdly have brand loyalty to Samsung) so I’m opting for this guy instead. It just came out this year and it’s at its lowest price ever, with reviewers hyping up the picture quality, which makes sense for a QLED TV. Plus, it gets extra points for having Dolby Atmos. It doesn’t have a fancy name like “The Frame,” but I’m sure I’ll love my new QN55Q80D (what a mouthful!).
Amazon Basics 5-Shelf Adjustable Storage Shelving Unit
My kitchen’s kind of small, so I need to maximize every inch of space. Our friends over at Bon Appetit recently extolled the virtues of a kitchen storage rack, which reminded me that I used to have one of these growing up, and it was supremely helpful. Calvin Klein Stretch Boxer Briefs (3-Pack)
If you need underwear, this is definitely the time to buy underwear. If you don’t need underwear, you will—chronology and biology and such—so this is also the time to buy underwear, mostly because you can get the good stuff for the price of a (fancy) sandwich. I’m not sure which camp I fall into and I don’t particularly care, because these clock in at $9 a pair, don’t have an expiration date, and take up very little space.
Mounting Dream TV Wall Mount
I’ve been talking about hanging my TV for 18 months now. It’s gotten to the point where I’m not sure I even believe myself when I make the proclamation, but I very much want to hang it, understand the value it would add to my apartment, and while I don’t think it would solve all my problems, it would undoubtedly distract me from the less pressing ones. And now I have zero excuses left, because this swiveling, folding and otherwise perfect mount is less than $50 and can get here by tomorrow.

I used the same face lotion for more than a decade and then it was discontinued and I was both bummed and annoyed, mostly because I (foolishly) thought I had a daily routine permanently set but also because I had to figure out a replacement. It turns out this was a good thing, because I like Kiehl’s Facial Fuel better than the one I used before and it leaves my face feeling significantly better. And at under $30, the TSA friendly bottle is a steal.

CC’s is a perennial GQ fave and Recommends All-Star for good reason: Nice boxy-but-not-too-boxy fit, soft like a much-loved broken-in tee (as opposed to pre-engineered athleisure instagram-ad softness), and a mid-length that’s good for a tuck or not.
